# of days 80°F(27C) or warmer (includes 90s)

Bridgeport, BDR: Coastal CT

2015: 75 (tied with 1993 as the most, we will break that)
2014: 64
2013: 61
2012: 66
2011: 68
2010: 73

Hartford, BDL: Northern CT

2015: 91 (3rd most)
2014: 77
2013: 78
2012: 88
2011: 79
2010: 96 (most)

Insane difference between the two locations, I bet most comes in the Spring when waters are cooler. But wow. 91 vs 75 this year and its a record for BDR this year. lol

It is now the 2nd year in a row that the hottest temp of the year for both NYC (Central Park) and Bridgeport, CT occurred in September. I believe it's the first time that has ever happened.

February 1956 in Oberstdorf, Bavaria. The coldest month I can find for any populated place in Germany.

-6.2 °C (20.8 °F) Avg High
-12.8 °C (9 °F) Mean Temp
-19 °C (-2.2 °F) Avg Low

January 1956 was quite mild but the whole winter of 1962/63 was remarkable. Stats for Annaberg, Saxony (High/Mean/Low)

Dec: -1.3/ -4.8/ -7.4 °C
Jan: -6.3/ -9.1/ -11.7 °C
Feb: -3.4/ -7.2/ -10.0 °C

In the summer of 1995, Pittsburgh reached 100°F, and Kansas City and Washington DC did not.

No, a heatwave here is defined as "three days in a row at which the temperature reaches 90F."

3 days in a row as Shalop said. Here's NYC temps this month so far. 2 heat waves. As I said in the other thread... I never experienced this kind of heat in September since before I was born. lol
