That is the heat island of Central Park. I doubt the overall NYC area looks like that. Trees here don't look like that.
Central Park isn't a heat island, Midtown definitely is, but Central Park has a reputation for being one of the cooler locations in Manhattan. Those weeping willows have been leafing out here as well, they're usually the first large trees to do so.
Light hiking this morning around here. Temperature 52°F (11C) after rain moved through.
Looks and Feels like November.
Rivers aren't swollen as I thought, then I remembered how dry it's been. Less than 2 inches last 4 weeks and all ground snow been melted north of here.
I forgotten that structure was there.. Still no idea why it was built there.
Urban Oasis
Somebody was watching me from way up in the trees. :-)
I put cardboard down to control the weeds and its bio degradable too.
I love the smell of fresh dirt in the hot sun. That's a plus for me in the Spring. Onions are in at the top. Garlic bottom left. Now we sit and wait while everything is growing inside.
I have some tomatoes planted. I haven't had much time recently to do much gardening, but I should be able to get more planted soon.
My garden is flooded right now, so I'll have to wait for it to dry out.

Color!
I've seen a couple red-tailed hawks in the last month or two but that's something different. Any idea what it is? Haven't seen daffodils out yet, they're late this year. Should open in a few days.
My friend sent me some pictures of London today.. looked nice! Funnily trees already have a lot of leaves there, compared to here in France where I am still waiting!

Do your tomato plants produce all summer long? I always heard that in hot summer climates like yours, tomato production ends around July 1st.
