Yes. I also notice that large areas of the oceans are warm, such as the northern Pacific and the Barents Sea.

I'm ready for spring. Screw it. Lmao.

Its my way to avoid depression and let down to look forward to something.. I knew 2 weeks ago it would be after holiday for any cold air to come back. (No 20s/30s is not cold here!) But man its torture waiting. 40s today, 40s tomorrow, Might hit 50s Wednesday. Yes! Time to till the soil soon. Screw it. I don't want 1 month of winter. Just be spring and be done with it. Lol

Rant over, depression beginning.

Great Lakes and northern New England look to turn at least seasonably cold, bigger threat of storminess remains along the coast for the extended (phasing issues and amount of cold in question). Hardly any snow here in southern Wisconsin and GFS shows no storms of any significance for the rest of the month. I'd much rather have snow than the non-stop fog here lately.

Surely some winter is better than none, right?

GFS ensemble loading up cold. Better late than never. Strat warming event? Will the PV split? Or is the cold going to be a Greenland Blocking origin?

No cold and snow flips me upside down!

Hartford, CT (BDL) December average temp right now is 34.9°. Ironically the 2nd warmest Winter of 2011-12 had that exact average.

Someone figure out how cold January and February need to be in order to get a Top 10 cold winter. Forget it.

Of course there has to be a warm anomaly over Louisiana.

Right now, I'm not thinking the second half will be cold enough to counterbalance the warmth of the first half.
