Another Canadian High Pressure dropping down and the front goes down to Gulf States before Occluding.

I know some of you always wondered how far the front goes. Well, take a look lately. Here's the current surface map. Should go a bit south more before stalling.

This morning our low reached 50°F a couple hours ago. The cool, refreshing air was really welcome especially since last week was muggy as hell

And it's lasting longer than coastal areas of the Northeast. Maybe someone can bring up an hourly stat who had 50s longer?

8:30am. Coastal Northeast vs Interior South Update.

Bridgeport, CT already 67°. NYC, Islip & Boston 68.

Upper 50s in Northern Alabama, Georgia & TN still

Here's a look at all the cold fronts that made it down south since end of June.

June 22
June 27
July 3
July 9
July 16
July 24

Notice anything with those dates?

Every 5-8 days there's a cold front that drops all the way to the SouthEast before occluding.

Last one was the 24th + 6 days would make the 30th... and here we are with another one even further south.

Yup.. But being both areas are inside the trough and the cold front well past us, it's a good time to really compare...

Lets take a 1pm look... Yup... Coastal Plain in the mid 70s while interior South mid-upper 70s. With Clear Skies mind you.

Both areas same departures but one more south in Latitude then the other

Here's the 500mb heights and dewpoints.. You can see the front off shore. Entire East is inside this trough. Sick to see this in the Summer. Wow

Miami has a record low of 66F in July, in 1975. How strong must that front have been.
