Can't be.... Sure it is.... Another Cold Front to the south. Canadian High pressure Dropping in for a visit.

Actual Surface map from yesterday afternoon. Every 5-9 days since June 22nd. When will it end?

Couple Discussions from the South..

NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TALLAHASSEE FL
233 AM EDT Thu Aug 14 2014

Locally zonal upper level flow will dominate today on the southern
edge of low pressure covering the northeastern quadrant of the
country. Deep layer ridging will remain southeast and northwest of
the region. At the surface, a frontal boundary separating
unseasonably dry air from more seasonable tropical moisture is
draped across the Tri-State region from around Tifton, southwest
through the Tri-State line and across the coastal Panhandle region.

------------------------------------

NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ATLANTA GA
728 AM EDT THU AUG 14 2014

NORTHWEST FLOW ALOFT AND HIGH PRESSURE AT THE SURFACE WILL BRING
MOSTLY CLEAR SKIES AND LOW HUMIDITIES FOR THE SHORT TERM. THE COLD
FRONT THAT HAS BECOME STATIONARY ACROSS SOUTH GEORGIA WILL BE IN
CLOSE ENOUGH PROXIMITY TO THE EXTREME SOUTHEASTERN PART OF THE CWA

Well, I'm certainly not complaining!

It really has felt like a northern summer after these wonderful fronts - cool nights and clear, dry days. Let's see if I can keep the peak electric bill below $150 this summer - it was $144 for July, so it looks doable if it doesn't get too hot. A couple more of these fronts to close out August, and it's all downhill from here.

It got down to 60 F last night in Alexandria, LA. That still didn't break the record of 54 F set back in 2004 on August 14 which was also the record for the entire month.

Might as well continue here... Interestingly last post was same month, last year. Lets keep these Canadian Highs dropping down. But impressed how far the front went.

Summer Cold front pushed to Gulf Coast producing some nice Fair weather clouds & low dew points in parts of the south.

Afternoon dewpoints.

Current Surface Map.
Intellicast - Mixed Surface Analysis in United States

Temps in the 90s under and south of front. 80s north.

And with a High Pressure you have ......... clear nights which just in time for the meteors. North Winds.

"Cold Front pushing through helped clear out our skies for tonight's meteor shower. Forecast at 5:40pm on WCYB! "

Now I remember why I had such an easy time of it last summer - we kept getting these refreshing cold fronts. It's supposed to get more humid by the weekend, but it looks like the 90's will be held at bay, at least up until I leave for Michigan

At least cold front to you means clear skies and dry air.

Cold front in Europe would mean rain.

Not summer but nice to see the front has past the gulf coast and most of Florida right now

Stalled over the Gulf. Northern Florida below normal right now in the 50s.

Lol, poor Saint Simons. Pretty much the only place in Georgia that still has trouble dropping below 60 F.

What's with those random 70+ degree readings in NE Texas?

Not sure. Seems legit. I see some other upper 60s around but yeah, that's some crazy microclimate there if you can call it that.
