WPC qpf forecast next 7 days. Most of it comes on Friday but starts Thursday. The trough over the Rocky mountains right now will slowly move east and push a front with it..

Slow moving front with upper level trough with gulf moisture feed = heavy rainfall.

WPC 5- and 7-Day Total Quantitative Precipitation Forecasts

Same with parts of southern New England. Max temps tomorrow in the 50s/60s. Our reason is different from yours though. Nice hail/flooding pic BTW that was sick. I thought it was a winter picture with the chunks of icy waters.

How would you like these snow totals on May 11th-12th?

43 inches (almost 4 feet) Encampment WY at 8880'
http://forecast.weather.gov/product.php?site=cys&product=lsr&issuedby=CYS&form at=CI&version=1&glossary=0

Whats crazy is that now even 6-12" looks like nothing compared to what fell here and above 7500'. lol

from the New York Times this morning:

http://cityroom.blogs.nytimes.com/20.../?ref=nyregion

After Sunday’s shockingly glorious weather, today will be the other kind of summer day:

Hot and sticky, with sunshine yielding to clouds, an afternoon thunderstorm, and a high of 84.

That temperature is the average high in mid-July. Normal for May 12 is 69 degrees.

Summer is not here to stay just yet, though.

The winds that are bringing us air from the south will do an abrupt U-turn overnight, as what meteorologists call a “backdoor cold front” slips in.

“That’s when the weather moves from east to west instead of west to east,” said Brian Ciemnecki of the National Weather Service.

Damp, ocean-chilled air will keep temperatures in the mid-60s Tuesday and the low 60s on Wednesday. Scattered showers will recur throughout the week.

Here in Denver, I have about 3" of snow built up, but nothing on any pavement from this storm (it was around 70 on Saturday). Most trees seem to be ok, but I have a couple that are bent down a lot. So far, it hasn't been below 32 at my house, but it can still snow at this elevation while the ground temps are above 32. Big issue is that it's supposed to drop to the mid 20s tonight. I'm not sure how the trees will take that since most are completely green with leaves.

This is my 12th year in Denver and I've never seen the weather be this insane! We're supposed to be in the 80s by the weekend.
