What climates have a record high or record low closest to the average high or average low for that month?
If someone could direct me to a thread where this has already been discussed, it would be much appreciated.

Are there any examples where the record high for a month is less than 2 degrees higher than the average high?

A small and isolated tropical island would be your best bet (the smaller the better). I wonder which tropical island is the smallest in the world with a weather station?

I've seen a few climate threads posted here where the difference between average and records was just 1C according to wikipedia climate stats anyway. More than likely bogus though.

That is bogus. Average high of 30C in every month? At 7* latitude there will be some variation, and those average lows are just ludicrous. Absolutely no way they'd be 28-29C year round, much less with such high rainfall.

Looks like this place is not too far from the Maldives, the climate stats for which are much more correct Malé - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I'm just wondering for a single month. Is there any weather station (that provides data) that you know of with very low record highs in relation to average highs or very high record lows in relation to average lows?

Christmas Island in May has an average high of 27.8°c and a record monthly high of 30°c, 2.2°c apart: Climate Statistics
