You know those rubber suits that fishermen wear when wadding in cold water? You may need them to keep the crabs from attaching if you are on the east side of the big blow. Ike may push a bunch of different critters up to you. It may get squeamish down your way. Can you see an octopus sunning on your drive way? Up here gators hunt high ground. Snakes get bad when they get rousted out of there favorite lairs. Let's hope for the best. On the bright side you will be reporting cooler temps.

Yeah I saw a octopus in my driveway this morning, surprised the heck out of me and I hit with my bookbag, needless to say, didn't affect it much and it inked me in my face ....my eyes still irritate from that.

yeah, much cooler temps, more than likely in 70s the whole time

EWWWW That's the one thing I don't like about Fla~the gators, crocs, and snakes. We do have hissers here, but generally they aren't the poisionous type. (sp?) Occasionally, we have to be careful because some rattlesnakes may ride along with a trucker who has a load of hay and is heading east. They'll ride right out of the Hills area and decide to take up residence over here. Can't stand those things. I like furry animals, but despise those reptiles.

yep, lots of snakes here...and they are ALL OVER THE PLACE. Even here in my suburban neighborhood I saw one while taking the garbage out....obviously didn't bite me.
