It was 40, actually not bad with the sun out. A storm front is coming so rain or sleet for tonight and tomorrow.

Lucky, you actually have sun!
Wisconsin's at the same latitude,
but that must be the distinct advantage of being west of the Great Lakes.

It's like 35 F at 7 pm (2 Celcius) under 100% cloud cover.
High was around 40 F (5 Celius) under dark skies.
It's seemed dark all day long; 2 pm felt as dark as sunset.
It feels like a moderate cold too with only light winds and moderate, occaisional gusts
however it still feels crappy everywhere
since there are no shadows and no warmer spots outdoors,
and the low light levels hurt the mood too.
Overnight low somewhere around 30 F (-1 C).

* I actually enjoy when it's nighttime on a cloudy day,
since it takes away the overcasts ugliness
and being in a big city it never gets very dark so we don't see many stars anyways.

SAB, this is your nightmare.
(is it even possible for Melbourne to be this cold?)

Definately. Biting cold and overcast Where's the vomiting smilie??

Melbourne wouldn't get that cold. Overnite lows of -1C occur in the outer suburbs sometimes but its always under clear skies.

I'm on a corner, two street lights, across from assisted living facility so parking lot lights, then their 7 flags out front have flood lights so this neighborhood is well lit. Not a problem for me but would be for people who like it dark to sleep, I just close the blinds and shut my eyes!

Our normal is supposed to be 45 we aren't close and won't be for the next week, lovely! Cloudy, damp fall days get on my nerves, absolutely raw. I've always said a 30 degree overcast damp day is worse than 20 degrees on a bright, sunny January day!

I agree.....I love cold, clear days....yet again, I love cold cloudy days as well....ah hell, I just love cold weather.

ILNC, it's soggy here too. 69 and pouring rain here......first time it's rained since October 25th....which is a pretty long time for south FL.
