A HOT one here in Chicagoland today, almost 90 degrees and quite humid. Not oppressive humidity, but definitely present. The sun is brutally hot today, reminds me of TX actually. Looks like we have 2-3 more HOT days proceeding this one.
Might be time to take some vacation days in the Yukon Territory. hahaha
HOT today! We are sitting at 81 right now which is down from a high of 83 for the day. Thank goodness it is getting toward evening time when the breeze will shift and bring in some cooler air from Lake Michigan for the evening. Supposed to get down to 60 this evening, so not real cool, but much better than the 80's.
If you find 3 months of solid cloud with perhaps 3 clear days in that entire period and summers which are less than half as lonmg as this crap "beautiful"...
Keep in mind, we are the "Minnesotta" of Australia
Some extremely rare sunshine here in Australia's crappiest climate, which resembles Vancouver more than anything.
Once again, it is impossible to see this climate in positive light. It's like eating vegetables....absolutely FOUL
This is how I would sum up Melbourne's climate:
Melbourne has a maritime (latin for toilet) climate, with short but warm summers and long, dull winters not unlike the British Isles. Winter gloom can last up to 5 months with very little sunshine and full clear days are very rare, perhaps only occuring once a month. Temperatures are low in winter and are compounded by often gusty winds from the south. IN summer, hot days are usually punctuated by up to a week of cool and sometimes cloudy weather and most days are accompanied by a cold and gusty afternoon seabreeze.
Currently in Houston, TX
Partly Cloudy 82°F
Feels Like
87°F
Dew Point: 73°F
Humidity: 75%
Pressure: 30.07 inches
Wind: From the East Northeast at 1 mph
It's a beautiful 75 degrees with no heat index. We're heading for mid 90s today and it looks like a chance of severe storms for the evening. Our dewpoint and humidity are both only 60 this morning~7 mph winds~just beautiful.
Yesterday we hit 97 and the heat index was generally only a degree or so above the actual temp. Yesterday's average~87~Yesterday's record high~109 in 1936~Yesterday's record low~40 in 1912.
Wow - we will not see a low of 51 until late November. That is winter weather.
Currently 95 with a humid dewpoint of 62. Still a chance of storms all week. We are well over our average rainfall for July which is great.
Expecting a high of 106 which is a few degrees below average.
