Warm temperate, moist forest here. Humid, I think.
And I understand why some want to kick DC/NYC/etc. out of "subtropical" (), but Orlando?
Same as here with a with warm temperate, moist forest designation.
Life zone system, implies an descending scale that would use ecological benchmarks to decide what counts as a warmer/colder climate.
Quite a difference of levels of ecological activity, between your climate and mine. I don't think this system provides an accurate measure of whether one climate is warmer than another, as relates to ecology.
^^^^ maps like this help show how out of touch attempts to define vegetation and climate are - my climate can comfortably grow avocados or passion fruit, or even bananas to a degree, yet is cool temperate, while places that can ,never grow any of these things ever, are warm temperate.
Time to give up on these clownish attempts to define climate by vegetation - flora only reveals actual climate..... not climate type.

I think this system just focus on, or prioritises, vegetation. Not so much the climate.
It's virtually a biome system I believe, which I find agreeable.
I don't agree with this system. It defines a tropical rainforest as a tropical forest with more than 8000 mm of rain. According to this system, the only tropical rainforests in the world are in the Pacific coast of Colombia. I don't say that all tropical forests are equal but excluding Amazon and Asia-Pacific from the definition of rainforest and including only the Chocó is just non-sense.

While the climate of DC and Orlando are very different, there are some similarities in the life there. For example, Florida has some similar wild animals to other parts of the east coast (Eastern Grey Squirrels, North American River Otters (which can be found all the way up to the arctic tree line), Blue Jays), and even some similar plant life (dogwoods, pignut hickory). However, there are some distinct subtropical plants (palmettos) and animals (alligators).
One thing I also realized is that there are places that are usually defined as a grassland being defined as a "temperate forest"
