1980s winters here were amazing. 2010s have been garbage outside of 2010-2011. All areas points south, east, north, and west have above average snowfall. Sigh... still looking for my storm

I keep seeing the changes on the GFS looking past the 20th. Have to see if it continues.

Here's the 22nd of February. Bermuda High and warm 850s surging northward.

BEAUFORT-COASTAL COLLETON-COASTAL JASPER-
356 PM EST TUE FEB 11 2014

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR SOUTHEAST SOUTH CAROLINA.

.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT.

COASTAL FLOODING...STRONG NORTH TO NORTHEAST WINDS COULD PUSH TIDE
LEVELS HIGH ENOUGH TO CREATE SHALLOW COASTAL FLOODING AROUND THE
TIME OF HIGH TIDE EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING. THUS...A COASTAL FLOOD
ADVISORY MAY BE NEEDED.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...WEDNESDAY THROUGH MONDAY.

WINTER WEATHER...AN ARCTIC HIGH PRESSURE WEDGE WILL BUILD INTO
THE AREA TONIGHT THROUGH WEDNESDAY NIGHT...AS WAVES OF LOW
PRESSURE PASS NEARBY IN THE ATLANTIC. FREEZING RAIN IS POSSIBLE AS
PRECIPITATION IS FORECAST TO OVERSPREAD THE AREA ON WEDNESDAY AND
WEDNESDAY NIGHT WHILE COLDER AIR PENETRATES INTO THE REGION. IT IS
STILL EARLY TO DETERMINE IF ANY ICE ACCUMULATION WILL OCCUR...BUT
IT IS CERTAINLY POSSIBLE WEDNESDAY INTO EARLY THURSDAY.

THIS IS A DEVELOPING SITUATION AND EVERYONE IS URGED TO STAY TUNED
TO THE LATEST FORECAST AND NOAA WEATHER RADIO ALL HAZARDS FOR THE
LATEST INFORMATION FROM THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CHARLESTON.

HIGH SURF...SEAS ARE EXPECTED TO PEAK WEDNESDAY AROUND 8 TO 10
FEET OVER THE SOUTH CAROLINA COASTAL WATERS...ESPECIALLY NORTH OF
EDISTO BEACH. BREAKERS COULD REACH 5 FEET AT THE COAST AND THUS A
HIGH SURF ADVISORY MAY BE NEEDED.

This total ice over up here kinda sucks. It has shut off the lake effect for us now so we have to rely on actual predicted snow from passing storms. Maybe we can get the Coast Guard to run their cutters back and forth up here on the northern end of Lake Michigan to open the waters back up.

They are lol. I lived for 10 years in northern PA, and moved down to the Harrisburg region and got too used to the past several mild winters (minus the one a couple years ago). The worst part is, that's now snow blanketing the ground and sidewalks outside, it's iced snow. That's probably how the last glacial period started out! I'm walking on a mini glacier outside my house. All the snow has iced over to the point where I can walk on top without my feet sinking through more than an inch

Next Friday we might be flirting with 50F/10C. Pretty impressive considering all the snow pack that exists in the Midwest right now.

Definitely next week will be our February thaw.

That's bad news for Frosty
