Good shot tonight at our first accumulating snow of the season (sad, lol). Radar looks good, maybe an inch.

We've been getting some cold night temperatures. Low of -10F in Chicopee (not far from me) last night. Just good conditions for radiational cooling. Didn't feel too cold while outside in the evening, when I got out of my car later at 11 pm it felt much colder started shivering instantly because I hadn't zipped up my coat all the way. Thermometer read 6F at 11pm.

Forecast low of -3F tonight. High of 29F and sunny today. Yesterday was 29F as well.

Any Break in the Cold?
February 07, 2014; 2:50 PM
Here is my latest interpretation of the weekly ECMWF long range forecast model.....
Despite the lack of red color across Canada, it does look like there will be a brief warm-up across the Prairies starting around the 16th. However, I believe it will be short-lived as there are signs of more cold late in the month and into early March, but of course not to the extreme of what we have seen so far this winter.
The model also seems to be taking into account the cold, frozen Great Lakes region and hesitates to bring any milder air into that region.
After a couple of weeks of stormier weather it looks like a drier regime will return in March over BC.

They're saying it's the heaviest snow in Tokyo since 1998 or something like that. It's past midnight and still snowing there. The article says 8 inches expected.
