Dew point just touched 80 here after hovering at 77-79 all morning. My personal highest since August 2016.

Max Dewpoints for 4 locations since July 1st..

Bridgeport has the lowest, Kankakee has the highest, Raleigh has the longest stretch above 70.

Bridgeport & Raleigh since July 22nd have been more humid then Kankakee & Lexington

Number of times staying under 70?
Bridgeport: 12
Kankakee: 21
Lexington: 18
Raleigh: 7

Visualizing the upper pattern it makes total sense with the trough/ridge setup past 2 weeks

July 7th we all experienced low dews at same time

I spent a couple of weeks in Canada (Montréal, Perth, Toronto) and it was quite humid the whole time. DP was around 70 mostly, it did not get more humid than that but I don't remember any dry spell. That said, it was pretty ok because it was usually pretty ventilated, especially in Toronto, so it felt less oppressive than when it happens here. Also it never got very hot, temps were mostly in the 70s to low 80s most of the time.

Also, it was mostly partly cloudy and there has been frequent rain, but the rain did not cool down anything. I only remember a couple of chillier nights (say, in the 50s) in Perth which dried the air a bit.

You went at an interesting time with the tropical feed going all the way up there.
Regarding not feeling as oppressive. I always felt soil type, vegetation, and air flow matter in how it feels even at the same DP temp.
