I asked Daryl at IEM if he had raw Dew point numbers so I can put together a graph and see just how dry this June was around here.
He gave me this incredible link. Didn't even know it existed. Been playing with it for a day now. (will post in Data Sticky soon)
Here's what I found..
Bridgeport, CT June Dewpoint Average on record.
June 2016 is tied for 5th driest. Previous 8 Junes in a row averaged above 59°F.
Last 20 of 23 Junes at or above normal.
So you can see why I (and many) have been gaga about how it hasn't been muggy this June. It's been a blessing for sure! And Bridgeport is right on the water as well.
The Max or Min would show it better probably vs the Average but I cant find it with his site.
Another cool look. This shows the actual water vapor in the air for 2016.. Another way to see how muggy or dry it is. Notice this June we've been below normal and even touched extreme once. The spikes are coming ahead of fronts with the southerly flow but most of the month we've had a NW dry flow.
