The warning is for wildfire danger...caused by dry and windy conditions.

Here is the criteria for that area:

Whoops, my bad. Still, wildfires in winter are pretty weird, despite the current conditions.

Taking air temp into account that's a 33% RH difference in 50 miles.

There's the same thing in Marseille, france in the summer because the area is extremely dry in the summer and windspeed can be as high as 100 km/h, sometimes they have to close some (beautiful) natural areas around the city to the public because of fire hazard.

There is definitely some more life in the air today with a 45F/7C dewpoint.

Bone Dry here and yet I don't feel the difference of -11F(-24C) and +11F(-12C). Weird. Temp is near my season low of 4°F(-15C)

Woke up this morning with a really dry throat. My adam's apple felt pretty swollen.
RH inside my house is around 20% (temp is 59F/15C).
Also, my lips are somewhat cracked.

These are just some of the side effects of these low dew points (here they're near -10F/-23C).

Still much better than our awful summer dew points above 65F/17C.

The dryness is annoying, but it doesn't bother me as much as the cold.

You can say that again!

I know they are coming and I'm not looking forward to it. Dewpoints this morning were in the single digits here with feathers falling from the sky. So rare for the coast again.
