Wow Wow. Not sure which is more news. NOAA saying this or the ice being above normal there. LOL!! No further comments. Just a forecast for now

NOAA Predicts Above Average Arctic Summer Sea Ice Extent

"Arctic sea ice extent will be above average this summer (2014) for the first time since the mid-1990s, according to predictions from computer models used by the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

If this forecast materialises then it would be the first time that the so called Arctic sea ice extent anomaly has been positive in the Summer since 1996, according to historic sea ice extent data kept by the University of Illinois."

Only a few days to I go. Does this mean pack ice or sheet ice?

I will take lots of pictures! It will be interesting how far out the ice starts in the ocean!! (i'mexpecting ice BERGS though not sheet ice like it shows).

Looks like we're on pace for another Summer of below normal temps in the Arctic.

I don't know about you but... I'm really impressed... Not just how far from record ice there is but the continuation of it.
