Hobart gets my vote for warmer temperatures and stronger sun.

Hobart by a mile.. much milder winters. Record low is only -2.8°C!!

I hate to trash my home city, but Hobart is better in every way: sun, temperatures, rainy days, rainfall distribution.

( Now some Tasmanian west coast climates would be a closer call. )

There is not much in it, but would go with Victoria for sunny summers - although I thought they were slightly warmer than this.
The yearly rainfalls are about the same, but Hobart is about the same each month, whereas it is more biased towards winter in Victoria - which is preferable.
Hobarts averages may seem ok, but there is a high variation in this and even in summer maximum temps well below 20C often occur.

Victoria gets my vote.

Very mild, they do a "flower" count every February
Sunnier summers. Less rainy days (approx 30 less)
Cooler record high temps
Hobart record highs are above 40c

You can grow palm trees in Victoria but they also get
some snow most winters too, very nice

Stunning location, on clear days you can see the majestic
Olympic Mountains across the strait in Washington state

I'm glad wikipedia uses data from Gonzales Heights weather station
instead of Victoria airport, as Victoria airport is miles away in Sidney,BC
a significantly different climate than Victoria proper

Hobart-, better sunshine throughout the year, warmer.

Victoria has a colder summer than I thought, only 1 month above 20C/68F, and only just.

Sunnier in summer (when it counts)

I like where I live now but I would consider moving to Victoria,
specifically Oak Bay

Hobart seems to have it better for me. Warmer and more summery.

I'm surprised that Victoria is winning this poll..it must be because of the colder winters that many people prefer.

I wonder. Also, familiarity, perhaps? Victoria is a warm spot in a cold country, Hobart is a cold spot in a warm country... It might make Vic sound warmer than it is.
