Both climates are OK but neither have ideal seasonal variation for my liking, would prefer slightly cooler winters and much warmer summers. I'd pick Hobart just for better distribution of precipitation/sunshine hours and higher heat potential, could also easily head up Mt Wellington for my snow fix.

Victoria. It has the better precipitation pattern, more sun in summer and a chance of snow. Plus it's my home state.

I choose Victoria for more chance of cold and snow in winter, even though I don't like the dryness in summer.
