Coldest temp I experienced in Perth was -1C / 30F in June 2006. All-time record low here during a record dry winter.

northwest suburb of Beijing, 1998, about -20C
Lawrence Kansas 2011, -10 F

Ironically the temperature reached 111 F in summer 2011 in Lawrence, very close to the record 114 F.

Muleshoe, Texas (south plains) 1983 or 84. The daytime and nightime temperatures remained below zero for a solid week. All the citrus in Texas and Louisiana froze and even Mexico City had freezing temperatures.

About 30F in Lithgow (western side of the Blue Mountains, 90 miles west of Sydney). I worked a freight train up there. It was a warm sunny morning as I was getting ready in Sydney so I chose to wear shorts thinking it would only be a few degrees cooler up in the mountains...WRONG! Standing around in the rail yard up there waiting for our return job was the coldest experience of my life. On the 3 hour trip we went through sun, then cloud, then rain, and finally sleet

In the winter of 95/96 in Helena Montana.

The mercury dropped to 53 below zero as a real temp not wind chill.

It did not rise above 0 F for close to two weeks after that temp was recorded.

Helena is close to Rogers Pass where the lowest recorded temperature On January 20, 1954 was recorded of −70 °F.

This is the coldest recorded temperature for the lower forty eight states.
