Niamey, Niger and Mumbai, India. Which climate would you prefer? Niamey is a Bsh while Mumbai is a Aw.

Mumbai has nicer temperatures and a pronounced monsoon season. Niamey is much hotter and has a wet season although not as wet as Mumbai.

I'd choose Mumbai. Average temps of 106F/80F in April don't sound good to me.

Mumbai, why would I choose a desert climate with 40C averages?

Mumbai, too hot but lacks extreme heat (not much above 95f). Good beach weather, too. But the monsoon looks terrible, creating horrible flooding problems that would be difficult for any city let alone one with poor infrastructure like Mumbai to cope.

Niamey, from an undesirable pair. Too hot, but Mumbai's monsoon would be horrible. Air quality would also be pretty bad in the latter.

Have to go with Mumbai, since though I'm a heat- and summer lover, the other is just too extreme.

Mumbai's monsoon seems crazy -- especially how it really drops that sunshine. Mumbai seems to somewhat have a similarity to Bangkok except it's quite a little bit cooler, and it's monsoon season more compressed.

I think it's often mentioned before on this forum that Asia's monsoonal climates tend to be cloudier than others relative to their latitude -- just a bit under 2600 hrs for Mumbai is still rather low compared to many locations in the US. Though in that kind of climate I don't know if many people want more sun!

Neither are very desirable, but I'd choose Mumbai. Even I would want months of sunny, dry weather after dealing with the monsoon season. Sounds quite intense.

I pick Mumbai. It has 12 months of summer and has summer weather all the time! Niamey has that too but it seems too hot for me and I want a bit more precipitation.

I even like the extremes Mumbai has with precipitation and sunshine. However, I would like less precipitation than that for the monsoon season. More like 10 inches for each month instead of 22 inches for one month or even 35 inches in just one month.

It even says that July 26 2005 had 37 inches of rain in just a 24 hour period!? How is this possible?

People in the USA make such a huge deal if a place here in the USA gets 5 inches of rain in one day or 8 inches in one month.

How can a city of 12 million and one of the premier cities of its country and its infrastructure deal with such intense rainfall in such a short period of time in its monsoon season!?
