Thought I'd post this one because Rome is almost exactly at the same latitude as where I live, but a lot warmer and drier. Ironically where I live, we get about 60 more hrs of annual sunshine which i never would have thought.

I'm going it also give it a B just like I did with Hartford. The higher temps appeal to me more in Rome but the more frequent Nor'Easters appeal to me more in Hartford (as long as they bring heavy RAIN and fog, instead of snow!) so I'd call it a push between the two.

2470 hrs annual sunshine and 30 inches of precip annually. AAMT of 26 deg which puts it in hardiness zone 9B.

I give it a B. Only the dry summer holds it back from awarding my first A. It's at the same latitude north as here is south. Same sunshine hours, similar temps for half the year, but a lot warmer during the summer than here. Only half the rain of here. Average minimum temperature would be about the same, although I've only seen 31F once in 10 years in my particular location. Very nice overall.

I give it a B-, it has great Winter weather. Summer isn't as warm as I'd like though, it's far from bad but if it was just a couple of degrees warmer I'd give it an A- or B+.

I gave it a B too. Nice sunshine totals and mild winters - I know it rains a fair bit but whenever I watch Six Nations rugby matches from there in February or so I always feel jealous at the 15C and sunny weather they always seem to have on those days - but summers are too hot and weather too monotonous for my liking. When I was there (I've been there twice: their April weather was 16-20C highs and variable cloud cover/rainfall, like a northern English summer) in summer every time I stepped outdoors in the afternoon I just got hit by a wall of heat, and apart from the occasional thunderstorm there's really no respite from hot, sunny days in the summer down there, though when I was there it always seemed to be about 32C in the afternoons, so perhaps that was warmer than normal.

B. Generally not a bad climate. Downside are the gloomy winter months. Having said that, we were there in January 2007 and had mostly sunny conditions and temps in the high teens so got lucky!

B. Nice summers, but loses marks for chilly (albeit mild) winters.

B also from me cos it's a fine climate overall. Winters are a bit cool but it gets winter thunderstorms frequently (many med climates do) so that's a bonus. I've been there twice and it was good in summer, was very changeable and windy in the spring.

B. Colder winters than I am used to and fairly lacklustre springs, but otherwise agreeable for the majority of the year.
Fairly mild Mediterranean climate.

B- for me. Summers look nice although winters are a bit on the chilly side.
