What a beautiful state. I would have no problem living there in the rolling green/mountainous part if I had any family there. That's the only thing - family factor. No fun if no loved ones to join you.

People talk about Montana (where I currently live) as the "last best place"..... heck, I think Western Washington and Northern Idaho are far prettier. And there's a little bit more civilization too, even among all the scenic beauty.

Thumbs up Thank You Seattle!

Thank You Seattle!

I Just came back from Seattle on a business trip/vacation and I have to say that Seattle is my kind of town. I was staying in the downtown area and despite all the things I heard about it raining there all the time, for the 5 days I was there I only had one really cloudy day. In fact I got my face slightly sunburned. Also I loved the landscape that was outside the city itself. I loved seeing the mountains and the sea (the sound) together. Basically I had a wonderful time the whole time I was there. I can say that I can't wait to come back to the Seattle area. I think next time I would like to go to Mt. Rainer and hike a bit. Anyways I'm going to post some of the pictures I took on the trip here and I'm going to leave the rest on my profile page for everyone to see. I will say that some of the pictures are better than others because my good camera actually has issues and I had to use the camera on my phone to take some of them. So the quality may vary.

Anyway in the end I can't wait to come back.

Baystater.

Thumbs up Old Salmon Beach

An old photo I took with an ancient Argus with a yellow filter about 40 years ago. I scanned it at a high resolution, enlarged it some and cleaned out the yellow to render it a decent old pic. The original photo is about 2x3 inches small, it is Salmon Beach in Tacoma before the yuppies and moneyed folks ruined it.

^ I'm sorry that one is so small, I took it with my old phone that had a horrible camera. This was our view from Shadow Mountain campground, which is west of Port Angeles about 15-20 minutes on Highway 101. Within those trees was a lake, but I'm not sure what it is called.

^ I thought this was really pretty. It's the view of the mountains in Sequim, as you're entering the Highway.

^ Here's a view of the Dungeness area in Sequim...GORGEOUS day on the beach.

^ The same beach as the above picture, but this time you can see the parasailers in the bottom left!

^ Here's a sunrise in Port Angeles. I was standing at the Lion's viewpoint, which is right above the Red Lion hotel, and looking out in the harbor toward Victoria, BC.

I hope you all like my pictures!
