Those who travel or snowbird somewhere sunny in the winter seem to do fine. The happiest were my neighbors who left for Arizona in Oct. and came back in spring.

The prevailing idea is that if you can quickly run outside when you see the 10 minute sunbreak and frolic in it, you'll be happy and look on the bright side of life.

The reality is that most people have to just put on a raincoat and go out whenever they can fit it in their schedule, and that's not always when the sun makes its appearance.

Often it's after dark in winter, due to the short days. I did many lunch time and after dark walks when I was working full time because it was the only time to fit them in.

Best part of the cold and wet weather-- noisy neighbors are not in the backyard yapping for hours on end.

Man, I wish I was rich enough to have a ranch away from it all.

LOL, San Diego, our home town! I would never go back, but in winter…

I hope you get some really good Mexican food.

Currently it's 31F here in Sammamish at 600' elevation. No sign of frost or freezing, yet but it might get colder before the sun comes up.

I was up at 4:00 this morning baking and it was pretty chilly @36 degrees.

This last year or so I’ve been thinking that our weather and local marine environment is near perfect for sourdough bread so a few weeks ago I started learning how.
If you think about it there are a lot of marine areas up here that have very similar weather to San Francisco and the Bay Area.
I made these this morning and I don’t think they would have turned out like this if I lived say in Phoenix or Vegas
I consider this another PNW perk that we should be taking advantage of.

Woke up to what I thought was snow at first glance, but it's just frost. Beautiful way to start the morning 8)

28 degrees, frost and sunshine. Perfect morning.

Throw another log on the fire and enjoy the sunshine if you're retired. Scrape the car windows and watch for ice if you're commuting to work.

Beautiful day today that started cold and then reached the low 50s, sunny with amazing fall colors at one of the local lakes I paddle. Colors were peaking with epic conditions. Fall is my favorite time of year to paddle in WA.
