It wasn't like that prior to the Seahawks being good.

Now it's all Seahawks, all the time. Even in Spokane.

That's just in the city. There are about three dozen in the metro area.
3 dozen BK's and not one of them in Redmond

Many employers, including mine (2,000 employees) encourage the "Blue Friday" attire. Maybe after this season being less successful it will diminish.

Default Low crime rate

I didn't realize that Seattle has lower violent crime rate than most large US cities. Or that there are so many encampments scattered everywhere except a few of the surrounding cities that prohibit camping, littering and open drug use.

It's a problem bigger than any city and it's not unique, just more noticeable because the numbers are bigger. There are more homeless in Seattle than in all of New York city which has 12x the population.

Ah one quirk that just came to me. What is up with all the Hawaiian restaurants around(Vancouver area anyway)? Best guess is a sizable amount of folks relocated here when Hawaiian cost of living got to be too much.

And I'm not a weirdo for wanting a Hawaiian pizza here. Everywhere else I've lived I was the serious oddball for wanting pineapple on a pizza. Here it seems almost as common as a pepperoni. Sure sign I've found my people heh.

I would say the craziest thing for me is DEERS EVERYWHERE!! I have a forest in my back yard and they are yard every day, sometimes at my window... I will be driving, more deers..Only deers I ever saw before where in Zoos.... I do LOVE it tho.♥
But I have not seen a mouse , and only one rabbit..( saw those daily in my yard in Ca)
This is all crazy to me..

Just be very careful driving... lots of deer increase the odds.

I've never seen a deer on my property... but I did have a nesting Bald Eagle that raised chicks... it was slightly down the bank so a perfect view into the nest...

Rabbits, cute little hares. Only on the rare occasions did I see a hare on the farm and none in our home garden in Oregon. I think the owls and the eagles/hawks kept the population down. But gofers and ground squirrels ...

Quote:
There were 3,675 people homeless and unsheltered on the streets of New York City during a single night in 2018 — a 6 percent decrease from the year prior, according to the latest results in an annual wintetttr count called the Homeless Outreach Population Estimate.
https://www.politico.com/states/new-...ecrease-472900

BUT:

Quote:
In August 2018, there were 62,166 homeless people, including 15,189 homeless families with 22,511 homeless children, sleeping each night in the New York City municipal shelter system. Families make up three-quarters of the homeless shelter population.
Basic Facts About Homelessness: New York City - Coalition For The Homeless

According to the following (p. 9), in Seattle 6,162 were staying in emergency shelters (3,585), transitional housing (2,207), or sanctioned encampment/village (370), compared to 5,932 in vehicles (3,372), street/outside (1,465), tent/unsanctioned encampment (947), or buildings/squatting (146).

http://allhomekc.org/wp-content/uplo...RT-5.25.18.pdf

In other words, close to 50% of Seattle's 12,094 homeless are unsheltered, while about 5% of NYC's 65,841 homeless are unsheltered. The reality is that Seattle/King County is doing a crappy job in providing shelter compared to NYC.
