Like sweetsommertime, I came here with a fear but it is okay now. (from Maryland two years ago)

I live in the most expensive apartment complex but the cost is very bargain. Only $675 for a one-BD unit. My electricity two months ago was $14 and last month at $32.

Across the street from my apartment is Randall Park, which is now home to Yakima’s first Disc Golf Course.

The White Pass skiing area is just only 50 driving minutes from my apartment. It has no long line because the road between this skiing area and Seattle is closed during the winter.

There are so many mountain bike trails.

Last week Yakima was selected as one of the America's Best Small Cities on the Rise.

My visiting daughter from Maryland told me that it is cheaper to live in Yakima.

I am relatively new to Yakima, have been here a year. I like it...it's the least pretentious place I have ever lived in.

Interesting responses on here about Yakima. I am thinking of applying for a job in the hospital there. If not this one perhaps one later. But reading about the city on here actually paints a pretty decent picture of this eastern Washington city. I would definitely be one along with my wife who would be wanting to make the city a better place to live for everybody.

Exclamation Move to yakima? Why????

Sad school districts, outrageously high violent crime, low wages, lack of anything constructive to do, 32% population poverty level. Sex offenders 2nd highest in state. City council all white yet town 58% Hispanic. Watch your daughters, Mexicans always trying to pick them up, no matter their age.
