Hello,

A few co-workers and I are looking at two rental houses in DC. One is in Takoma (on Fern Ave. one block east from Georgia Ave.), and the other is a few blocks from the Potomac Ave. Metro on Kentucky Ave. What would you say the pros and cons of each area are (I currently work in Beltsville)? I am sort of familiar with the Takoma area since I currently live in DT Silver Spring. Parts of Georgia Ave. seem a bit rough around the edges but most of the housing in Takoma seems OK. I know these areas aren't perfect as far crime but they don't seem to be all out ghettos by any means. Does this seem like a fair assesment?
