Hello guys,

I'm driving to D.C this coming weekend for the holiday. I'm leaving from Pittsburgh on Friday morning, with my boyfriend, and had initially planned on taking him to see the Mount Vernon Candlelight tour in the evening. A few minutes, I tried to purchase tickets online, only to find that all Nov 25th slots, but 8:45 pm and 9 pm, had been taken. It was such a boneheaded thing to wait until the last minute, but here I am, with no "surprise" for Friday evening (we are spending that afternoon together, and then joining the rest of my family on Sat and Sunday).

Any suggestions on what to do/see on the afternoon/evening of Black Friday? We won't be part of the shopping madness. We just want to spend some quality time, doing something romantic!! It'd be great if it's an activity at or below $50/ticket.

Thanks

Truly Sad and Disappointed

You could always stroll the streets of Georgetown. The main area will be somewhat crowded with shoppers, but you can walk through some of the side streets and then stop in a nice restaurant in the neighborhood for a romantic dinner.

Grab a cupcake off M-street. Get a sandwhich from Wisemillers off Prospect. Get a contraband bottle of wine in plastic cups and go to the roof of Village C dorm in Georgetown. Eat, drink, look at Rossyln and the Potomac. Great view.
