Not to be a party pooper, but you can be ticketed for leaving your car at a Metro station for longer than 24 hours. If you drive to West Falls Church and park your car there, don't be surprised to come back to a few slips on your windshield.

That's a good point. Might be best to take a cab to the metro.

Thanks to all of you I now know alot about metro :-)

Megabus leaves at 8:00 and they said I need to be there atleast 15 min prior to their departure...The Metro in West Falls Church starts on 7:00 AM on the weekend and that really makes it hard for me to get to the Union Station and then walk to the Megabus station, so I have two choices...I should either:

1-Change my megabus ticket to let's say 9:00 AM
2- Just drive to Union station parking garage and leave the car there until I come back on Sunday night.

What would you recommend me to do?

Thanks again, I really appreciate your help.

There is long term parking at Union Station.

It's kind of expensive isn't it?

Just called Union station and they said it'll cost me $20 per 24 hours...It will kick in after the first 5 hours. So I guess it would be $40 from Saturday morning until Sunday night...

Metro sounds much cheaper, but just read somewhere else that on the weekend, it's so hard to find parking spots in Falls Church metro, unless we get there hours in advance...Not sure if it's true though

You are allowed to park long-term in designated spaces at Franconia-Springfield or Huntington Metros.

The problem won't be finding a spot at the Metro. The problem is that it's illegal to leave your car at West Falls Church for more than 24 hours, so you are taking your chances if you park at the station.

Oh I had no idea, thanks for the great tip, you saved my life (in this case my car)...

I'm running out of luck here, the train schedule cannot be trusted and I'm afraid I'd miss the bus (scheduled to depart at 8:00 AM).

Yeah get a later time but you might need to just take a cab like you would if you were flying.
