I have looked over these boards and couldnt really find an answer so now just going to ask myself.

I understand there is permit parking by zone all over DC. I plan on trying to get a temporary permit for now and maybe even bring my car back home if that don't work.

But for now are there any places in DC that are non permit parking? I have looked on a DC website and you can street search and have found some blocks near where I live that say they don't have permit parking. However, when driving down these blocks I found that one side of the street does have permit parking but the other side seems to not.

Just out of curiousity I was wondering if anybody knows any places that are not permit parking? Do they exist? I am not asking for you to name the places but just to say if you know of anywhere where this is true.

Thanks

They exist, but are quite rare.

If you need to obtain legal parking while you get your registration sorted out, you can get a temporary permit at your local police station. Go to the DMV page on the dc.gov website for more information. I think that all you need is the registration, your drivers license, and proof of residency.
