I'm looking for information on commute times into Bethesda from around the area. I'm considering relocating my family from Richmond, VA. My commute time now is 45 minutes. I have two children, 9 and 3, and don't know where we should consider moving for safety, similar commute time, and fairly good single family houses. Any and all help in terms of communities, etc. would be great. Crime and commute time are prime considerations.

What's your price range? Bethesda is actually quite nice--but pricey!

Commute to Bethesda is 45 minutes to 1.5 hours. I am not sure it matters where you are coming from. Seriously, I work in Bethesda and from northern Silver Spring (Colesville) and Montgomery Village, those are the commute times. Off-rush it is only 1/2 hour.

Look in Bethesda, Rockville, Kensington, and Silver Spring. Or somewhere off metro. Traffic is horrible and you want to be close. Montgomery County schools in Bethesda/Rockville will mostly be good.
