I was thinking the exact same thing. I think it's a very fair question to ask as behavior differs in different areas. I hope others familiar with Calvert County can offer legit feedback.

I owned some property in Southern Maryland in the past. You can find kids being jerks anywhere, no more or less in Calvert County.

You can get some flavor of the area on the Southern Maryland website. somd.com

Again it's a thought / discussion that should be made in advance .I am curious to ask you though why would it not happen in Calvert County ..."obviously"? No schools tolerate bullying but what makes Calvert so different ?

Especially the "Life in Southern Maryland" chat room forum. However, most of the yahoos posting on there live in St. Mary's County, which is a full hour away from Owings.

I am white and my wife is black. We are not worried so much about her safety as we are about raising a mixed child in the area and the child experiencing racism or colorism and their experience in school. Thanks.
Thought you would have found out more about Calvert County by now.

Calvert is too diverse for kids to physically bully someone just because of their ethnicity, about 3/10's of students in CCPS are non white,
