What area around Brandywine would be good for a short term rental? I will be working in that area for 6 months to 1 year and looking for a safe, quiet , low crime area within 15 - 20 miles of Brandywine.
What area or town would you recommend and where should I stay away from?

You might be a little mistaken,"the middle of nowhere" thing.20 mins to DC and 30 min to Baltimore and same to Annapolis.Brand "new shopping Center " right on Branch ave ,many would differ with your assessment.

You are correct. Brandywine is rural, not middle of nowhere. Your times are off for Annapolis and Baltimore.

Well, I suppose in the quiet, middle of the night, one could reach just the city limits (ghetto side) of DC in 20 minutes from Brandywine. To get to the edge of Baltimore would take over an hour.

Youre wrong. According to green road signs, Baltimore is nearly 50 miles from Brandywine. To reach it in 30 min. equates to an average speed of around 95 m.p.h., including waiting at many red lights on 301.

I take it you've either never driven to either in real life, can't tell time or live in a space-time continuum that has longer minutes than ours.

Brandywine isn't rural, at most it's exurban and even that's debatable now. As far as rental units go, Clinton and Waldorf will be your best bets.
