Unfortunately DeVos has not gotten around to ending this focus of the Dept. of Ed. So schools are still operating under Obama initiatives in this regards. To Devos's credit she is doing a thorough study on the issue before ruling but in my opinion it should have been ended day one.
One more reason I'm an Independent on most topics. I actually don't know how most people can choose a political side.

Prince Georges County, MD is a classic example of a failed attempt at "social engineering" by Federal, State and Local governments. For decades (while there was still a sizable White population in the County) Affirmative Action and Minority only programs were pushed, which resulted in the White population leaving in disgust. Due in large part to these programs PG County, MD now represents the largest wealthy African American population in the World. However, the county also has terrible schools that have been plagued by one scandal after another. Also, their Police force is substandard and PG County is one of the most violent Counties in the US. So much for Liberal "give aways" based on race.

Speaking as a kid that grew up as a non-black person in a nearly all-black educational environment, your kids will definitely be singled out for their difference. I think the kids today are better than the kids back when we all went to school (read: more enlightened to topics of sensitivity, cultural acceptance), but if your kids are clearly different in not just looks but also by their personality, they will definitely feel loneliness at best and ostracization at worst.

Pay the extra 100-200K for a house in a school district that is more fitting to your kids-- roll it into your 30 year mortgage. The alternative is private school, which is not worth the investment for most.

How is it being trolled?? Do you actually know the definition of trolled?!? Clearly not.
The Question was about PG county schools and knowing how crappy they are. That's a legitimate question.

Legitimate question or not, if OP asked the question just to rile folks up it’s trolling.

According to the table shown in this link, Prince George's County had the third-highest violent crime rate of all counties in Maryland.

I didn't realize that Wicomico was so high, and that Montgomery was so low.

Wicomico probably has its rate impacted by the low population. It doesn't take many occurences to really skew the numbers. I imagine the college in Salisbury will juke the numbers, as colleges in small towns almost always do.

Unfortunately many Prince George's boosters never see the 2X4s that hit them in the face. Much as I hate to say it but Baker was right about the reasons.
