Hi! I am thinking of possibly relocating to the DC area. My job would be in Rockville, Gaithersburg, and Bethesda (travel to different areas required). How much traffic would I be dealing with going into these areas around 1 pm or later, and coming out around 7? Would this be nasty, or reasonable?

Also, with my job being primarily in those three areas, which area is good to live in for a young mid-twenties person? I don't like night life and bars, but I do like culture, large groups of young green people, etc. Would these areas have any of this? Or would it be better to live in the NW section of DC down by the Cathedral (but not Georgetown--crazy housing prices!)? Where is the Also, which MD suburb would have the most access to metro lines into the city if I opted not to live in the city itself? How far would a commute be from Arlington, or Alexandria, VA? Is that too much to hope for because it goes on the beltway?

Thanks!

God bless you because all these areas are very high in traffic no matter the time of day. You will have to take I270 worst belt to drive on in Maryland in my opinion. I am in my early twenties and if i were you I would either live in NW DC or SIlver Spring. If you live in NW Dc you will do less driving. You can do almost everything within walking distance. Thats the only thing I miss about DC.
