We would like to buy a cheap convertible just to mess around with on weekends. Not something that would be driven a lot, would like to spend under $8K. The Volvo C70 (from 2007 on, with the convertible hardtop) is intriguing. I like the idea of not having a cloth top that someone can just slit and gain entry to the car. Wondering if anyone has any experience with these, and what the ownership experience is like.
DH has a 2011 C70 and we love it. The back seat is best accessible when the top is down however. It can fit a person, but it’s tight. So far, no real maintenance issues at all. We have referred to it as the go-go gadget transformer, fun to see people’s reactions when we hit the switch to put up or down the top.
