Also, the picture I posted of the new V60 is amazing and the configuration is online to build one. It is coming to the U.S. finally and is priced really well for what it offers. Although if it's built in China I'm scratching it off my list.
That's actually the V40 you posted and it hasn't been confirmed for the States as of yet (as far as I've heard). I do agree that the V60 is awesome and I want the upcoming Polestar model but I am really on the fence (and have been about Volvo since Geely took over).

Thanks for the correction. As far as I know the Polestar is not yet confirmed but you can get a V60 T6 AWD R Design pretty loaded for around $40k MSRP.
I challenge you to take your current Volvo apart and find out where the individual parts that make up the whole car are made. I think you will be disappointed.

Made in China or not ... , I wish they bring back the P1800 (Poor Man's Ferrari)
Just to have one again !
Had several Volvo models, a P1800 (made in England),
the 1800 ES, a 245 (both made in Sweden)
(got married and had 5 kids ... ),
and then finally a Theis 765 K1 version (for business).
Came back to the USA, and gave up on Volvo. Too many service problems.
When I came home with that 765-K1 model, the family asked me why did I opt for a *hearse* ?
It was (dark) Charcoal grey and had a super-whatever diesel in it !
Diesel is really cheap in Europe ! That thing could cruise at 170 kph all day long !
They used to call those Volvo wagons - The fastest tank in the world ...
Uhuh, it was !
BTW, Wife drove a VW bus with an Oetiker engine in it !
There were no kinks in my 1970 Datsun. Best car I ever owned, only 25 years after Hiroshima.
My brother owned a 1967 Datsun SPL-311, and he still recalls it as being the absolute worst car that he ever owned. If you want the details regarding that car's defects in both design and assembly quality, let me know.
If Datsun made great strides in their quality in only 3 years, that is terrific, but the reality of the situation is that their 1967 models were pure unmitigated crap.
In fact, his Datsun was even worse than the worst car that I ever owned, which was...a Volvo 240 series... and considering how unreliable that Volvo was, the lower quality of his Datsun was...remarkable!
So Volvos won't be cheaper to buy, just cheaper to manufacture. Would I spend $50k on another Volvo like I did on the one currently in my garage if it's made in China? Not likely.
Volvo sales are currently low enough in the US and I don't think this will help in that regard. I think it depends on what models they plan on exporting Stateside. A C30/V40 made in China? Maybe. A $55k XC90? Again, not likely.
I'm with this guy. Love my 2013 C70. Probably going to be our last Volvo.

Oh, it's confirmed and I want one. Bad. I am thisclose to emailing my dealer to put me on whatever list I need to be put on to be in line for one of these:
