City, the Wii is the family console so unfortunately I can't sell it. It also is Netflix capable so that's another feature that the family likes.

I'm pretty sure the other consoles are netflix capable, too. It's possible they even give better resolutions.

Correct. The Wii isn't capable of the high definition 1080p that you can get with the 360's or the PS3's version of Netflix.

I'm not disappointed in the Wii, but I'm hesitant to take the next step. When I bought it, I knew I needed to invest the extra cash in a balance board so I could play Wii ski&snowboard and Shawn White. I keep waiting for a Wii surfing game (SERIOUSLY, WHERE IS IT?!) which hopefully lives up to KSPS, but for now it's hard to justify spending the entire purchase price over again (BB + games ~ USD 200) just to go digital snowboarding.

I liked Wii sports resort. I played the one-player fencing "quest" until my eyes bled. Same for the Wii Sports boxing.

Tried a few RP games like No More Heros and Shattered Dreams: Farewell Ruins of the Moon. Both became boring and repetetive pretty quickly, and didn't do enough with the motion controls for my taste.

I was thinking about Monster Hunter Tri, but I hear the same story with the lack of use of motion controls. I loved ICO and Shadow of the Collusus for PS2, and Monster Hunter Tri seems in a similiar spirit. However, the Wii is not a powerful platform. If I wanted to sit down and press buttons, I'd have bought a PS3 or Xbox360.

I hear that one of the zelda's makes good use of the controls, but... he's just so green. And with pointy ears.

Also considering rockband, now there's a BIG investment!
You can hack Mario Kart and cause havoc in online races, but it isn't a good idea unless you join a hacking group. Same with Brawl. However if you are all motion controls then you are going to be bored quickly with the wii as 90% of the games that mainly have motion as its point are kinda stupid, or kiddish. I like most of the games Nintendo made, except for Wii Fit and Wii Music, both I really hate.
I guess I'm one of the few out there, although I am still a teenager. My parents never bothered to get an HDTV, though its not like they can't afford it. There isn't much on the PS3 or 360 I would go for either.

Okay. Scrap what I said above. I just got Donkey Kong Jungle Beat New Play Control off of amazon gift card money (I never owned a Gamecube), and that game is crazy with the motion. Not really a big fan of the motion, as it tires my arms out after 10 minutes because I haven't played a mainly motion controlled game for a while. Its good, its kind of like a side scroller.

There is no 1080p streaming via netflix. And only 6% of titles they have currently can stream at 720p. There may be 5.1 audio out later this year.

considering their library goes all the way back to the B&W days, 6% in HD isn't really all that low.

There is one thing that I am mad about, but this may be more of a pet peeve.
Mario Kart online sucks sometimes. Because the lower VRed players often are able to attack the people with higher VR repeatedly. I lose a lot of VR when this happens. By the time I'm done with 10 races with this happening, I'm looking for a fight myself. This is bad news for anyone behind me. I think after school starts back I'm leaving the online Mario Kart for good. Anyone want a Mario Kart Wii disc?
Kidding of course.
