Lived in the same small town (pop. 1700-/+)for 26 of my 31years, I love the small town country feel, and knowing most everyone. Is brandon a good area to raise to raise my 4 children and enjoy a peaceful country life. Any thoughts would be helpful

Brandon is a small, community-oriented town with more going for it (galleries, community groups, etc.) than many other towns its size. If you need something Brandon doesn't have, Middlebury to the north and Rutland to the south are accessible within 20-25 minutes. However, jobs are very scarce in Brandon. Vermont Tubbs, which employed dozens of people there, has closed up. If you need to make a decent living, just make sure to secure a job or income from some other source. Have you visited Brandon?

It's not a bad town if you can find a job...it's not far from Rutland so if you found a job there you could live in Brandon (though Rutland's economy isn't exactly too impressive right now).
