Burlington broke "daily" record today. Was never 97° July 2nd date.

Officially a heat wave for Burlington. I see the Average temps drop towards end of month. Can't wait for Fall.

I spent half of yesterday either in the cellar or my truck running the AC. I gave up on the gardening chores and wood splitting. I caught lyme disease 3 weeks ago in Essex County(no ticks there till last fall at my place!) so it's real rough.

No, but really, been in the 90's here (Upper Valley) but does not interfere with sleeping at night. I just put a fan on, blowing right on me. Got a tub of cool water I dip into when I need to cool down. Otherwise I sit in front of a fan with a wet cloth dampen my exposed skin. And I get my walk over with first thing in the AM before it hits 70.

I got the AC!!! had a neighbor put it in the window, then discovered it had a 3 prong plug and my outlet was two prong (old house). But luckily said neighbor had a compatible heavy extension cord that he loaned me until I could get an adapter. Sheer bliss last night! Even if I had to put it in the guest bedroom.

Glad to hear! I think its nuts to live without AC nowadays.
Hopefully you have plans on changing that outlet. How many watts or amps is the AC? I assume 110V too? Even if it doesn't trip the circuit the wires could be heating up and drying out the insulation on it or cause a fire. Check to see if cord or plug get warm to the touch. Sometimes breakers/fuses wont trip if defective.. And 2 prong simply means there is no ground attached to whatever is plugged in. If the casing of the AC ever became live you would get shocked.

Speaking of warm... This morning... Another morning.

We didn't bother with our window AC units at all last year, but we sure are now! At least our bedrooms are cool so everyone can sleep.

As a convertible owner, I usually live for these long stretches without rain but I took the car to run errands yesterday, less than 10 minutes each way, and that was enough for me. I was roasting.

My total number of C-D posts are dropping off. I dont do well with this pattern. Humidity is nuts and not breaking. I'm drained and not even outside. You open the door and it hits you hard.

Looking forward to Friday's front! 40s and 50s Sunday morning!

No, I rent, so I am stuck with it. Old house. AC needs a 15 amp circuit, I have a 20 amp circuit. Been feeling the plug and the cord, not warm at all. I believe there is an inline "reset" in the plug of the AC.

And here it comes! Thank the Lord! You guys are getting some storms this morning. Get those rain gauges out there.

Dew points in the nice comfortable dry 40s behind this front.
