For those who are still unemployed, how many interviews have you had within a 1 year time frame? Count phone interviews.. also count subsequent rounds for the same position are separate interviews (i.e. 1st round and 2nd round for one position count as 2 interviews.)

My total is: 24

Since 1/2009, I had 9 in person and 2 telephone interviews. I applied to 278 jobs to date (or sent resumes).

I`ve had 8 interviews. But I believe only 3 were real interviews. Five of them were for companies that you see posted all the time that are commisssion only. The ones where you have to cold call or go find the customers and then they pay you a commission on anything you find. I really don`t consider those real jobs.
I too, have sent out over 200 resumes.

These are some stunning numbers, aren't they? Friday an individual told me that her daughter had been called back to her old job. The position was eliminated this summer. I gritted my teeth as the woman said her daughter was glad the position had been reinstated because it was close to home and she wasn't too bored.

Now, this is a nice woman, but she has no idea how awful things are. It seems that most people are chosing to ignore how awful things are or they just really don't care. The only time a job loss matters, to many people, is when it immediately affects them or a close family member.

I have been told so many ugly things during my long, long unemployment period. If someone asks a specific question that would indicate how few interviews I've had I hide the information. I don't need any more negative garbage.

It's almost funny . . . I told the woman that I hadn't had an interview since the end of November and she looked shocked. I thought, "lady, you would be shocked if you knew how few I've had."

Not even one. I have not really seen a job that even I wasn't thinking that I was grossly over qualified for, but I have applied for over 300 positions since my last interview which was in May 2008.

I just had my 27th last week. I've applied for about 215 positions since Dec. 2008.
