Yes. They don't exist anymore.

Maybe if I ask them for a favor, just this one time. Maybe they'll budge?

You'd have better luck building a time machine to go back to prior to July 1, 2013.

It won't happen, forget about it.

What's preventing you from getting a job? What type of working are you looking for? Do you live with your parents?

I'm looking for a job and I have been the last 4 months. I work as an engineer. No I don't live with my parents, live with my wife, lil guy, and a dog. Why does that matter?

Since your benefits are running out, you're going to have to take whatever comes along (whether you like it or not) to bring in an income. After you do that, you start looking for what you want again. It's a fact of life that you can't always get the job that you want right away, or even ever.

Maybe that's what you did, but its not for everyone. I'm not about ready to get a job that doesn't meet my expectations. Some shoot lower than others I suppose.

Don't be so rigid.

Based on the things you've said, you probably lost your job around Feb. You in all probability have unused wages from Oct 1, 2015 to sometime in Feb 2016. Because you're an engineer, you probably are getting max benefit. Come Christmas time, you might want to land yourself a Christmas help job. Sure it's below you, but you can almost be certain of a clean lay off. Those wages (to show attachment to the labor market) and your unused wages can allow you to get another 26-weeks at maybe even max benefit come Feb, 2016. It might buy you just enough time so that you can continue to be picky choosey.

UI is a system with rules that can be gamed, but you need to know them, and be flexible enough to make them work for you.

Yeah I didn't mean to come off that way. So your recommending if for some reason I haven't found something by lets say , October, look for a seasonal job. There will be layoffs and then I can apply again? But unless it's a really good "seasonal" job, I wouldn't be getting max benefit, I'm assuming.

To answer your question, I am getting max benefit which is better than nothing and helps. But if I haven't found something by mid August. Those UI benefits run out, I'll have to resort to savings.
