I have just started receiving my EDD UI benefit for the amount of $450 in July. Last week I got hired but I had to quit this new job after only 2 days due to family emergency (death). I may not be available to work for a month. Will I still continue receiving my benefit from my previous work?
No, you will not continue to receive benefits. The reason for leaving will be seen as a non qualifying reason and the quit after 2 days will need to be investigated and deemed as a non-disqualifying reason. You are also not available to work. As EDD requires that you be able and available for work, you will not continue to receive benefits.

Thank you for any answers or suggestions.
Contact EDD. The real question is why a family death would preclude you from working for a month. Three days sure. A month??? I don't think so you unless you happen to be the decedent.

Usually CA EDD does not pay if you quit employment.
Does anyone know how long it takes to receive EDD debit card from bank of america. Today, August 29th I looked at my disability claim and it said I was approved and money available.

1. This has nothing to do with the thread.
2. EDD and disability are not the same thing, so nothing to do with the thread...
although most of the Qs on the CD UE forum relate to unemployment issues. CA SDI is not often discussed here. The few times we've had Qs on the issue, I've found the CA online information to be very sparse - especially as compared to UE benefits which are covered in enormous and wonderful detail in the UIBDG.
