Okay I have a strange question.

I live in connecticut, and am on uneployment, and I'm looking for a job, what I'm wondering is this.

If I get a job, full time, 40 hours a week, but make LESS than what I'm gettng from unemployment, can I still collect partial benefits or because it's full time, my benifits end?

I'll give an example, I get $319 a week for unemployment after taxes. If I take a job, making $9.00 an hour for 40 hours, that will be about $282 a week after taxes, so technically it wouldn't be worth it to me to take this job, unless I can get partial benefits. But can I?

And yes yes, I do get it, what happens when unemployment runs out, then that $282 IS worth it.

UE does not care about your taxes :+0 Gross pay is what counts & what you have to report.

Even if your gross pay is less than UE --if you work fulltime you are working full time, no partial benefits for that.

I am currently working as a contract temp at 40 hrs week. They do not pay after 32 hours and not then if it is more than your UI benefits. Call your UI office. They were very helpful to me here, in MN. I still report every week altho I know I will not get any monies, to keep my account open. But, at this stage, any job for any monies is much, much better than wondering if you will have money after your UI runs out. You can always apply for others while you are working and the theory is - companies are more willing to hire you when they find out you were working.
