This is the first time I watched in years after recently going back to listening to some country.

I like Carrie Underwood. At least she has the vocal ability to have deserved her awards. I'll never forget how Simon on AI claimed she wasn't deserving to win I find her classy looking. As far as her outfit during her song >> C'mon her backside was completely covered >> Blame the choregraphy. She is beautiful and sex sells, always has, always will.

I know Swift writes her own songs but I don't understand how she ever came under the country genre? It is pop. I can't recognize her '15' song as anything other than bubblegum pop! Aw well, when she isn't the pretty new young thing on the block, at least she will have song writing to fall back on!

Poor Leann Rhimes kinda vanished from the country music scene. Has she had a hit lately? Whom ever was responsible for her make-up should be fired! Made her look older and hard. Wish she and others would have sung.

I agree country ain't what it used to be! Then again Reba's constant twang gets on my last nerve! I don't enjoy her voice much. I liked the song about George Jones, but Kid Rock butchered it and has no place in country music The dude Jesse James?? ... I liked his voice.

Leann Rimes has been working on her television/movie career...and getting divorced...and hooking up with the costar of her television movie...but not in that order.

The Judds looked scary.

Taylor Swift is a lovely young woman who has wonderful song writing skills, but she can't sing.

I did not like the song Sugarland performed and I felt embarrassed for Jennifer when she offered Brooks & Dunn the opportunity to say something. They pretty much just waved her off.

Darius Rucker was so genuinely happy, it was contagious and I was happy for him.

I didn't like the Daughtry/Vince Gill pair-up either.

I guess I'm with George Jones. Country Music isn't country anymore. I'm worried for it.
i agree with you---will still listen to george strait,alan jackson,any "old"country

Now that is cool looking! We will take Brooks & Dunn, George Strait, Alan Jackson, Chris LeDoux (now passed away), Hank Williams, Jr., Toby Keith, Shania Twain and even those older groups such as, Alabama, Charlie Daniels, Little Texas, The Judds and (without a doubt) Garth Brooks wayyyyyyyyy over some of the Bands of today! But, at our age (60-61), we would be into the older stuff.
But, when we went to a rodeo, some years ago in Vegas, and Aerosmith and fireworks were going on before the Grand Entry.......THAT was totally cool!

I am at the same age and totally agree with you. I lived in Nashville in the mid 80's and loved that era. Now when I listen to country on Dish, I hit the 80's channel and am happy a pig in mud.

CO-writes. Don't get me wrong- she's much more of a writer than most artists, but it's not like she writes her whole CD! She has gotten a few of her own on there, but don't buy the hype. Nashville is full of pro writers (most notably Liz Rose) who make her look good.

I'm going to say it.....Taylor Swift is awful. Hideous. Can't sing. Only appeal is to the teen set, and the teen set ISN'T country. Kind of like that hideous Cyrus kid.

ONLY reason Swift got EOY: Sympathy for Kanye West dissing her at the VMA's. She didn't deserve that award either.

Country isn't country anymore. They really have "committed murder down on music row"....

I'm with George Strait, Alan Jackson, and all those who really sing good country.
