Never knew anybody before Johnny Carson stopped watching when Leno took over. Switched to Letterman, when I want to watch late night which isn't much lately.
George Lopez is throwing his hat into the late night talk show host ring now. He would be better than Conan probably.
The Tonight Show is on too late for me. I've watched it before and I like Leno a lot. I like when he does the Headlines and Jay Walking. Here in CA it's on at 11:35 p.m. and I have to get up early, so I typically like to be in bed by 10pm.
First off, Carson was the best! Nobody can hold a candle to the many facets that man could pull off on the show.
These days, I usually watch the first 20 minutes of Leno and go to bed. So I'm excited that he'll be on at 10PM . I can get to bed much earlier now.
I used to like Conan when he had Andy Richter as the regular sidekick. I don't care for him by himself on the show.
Letterman used to be one of the best! Funny and irreverent. But since he got to CBS, he just became a cranky, repetitive grouch! And while Paul Shafer is a musical whiz, he's a one trick pony on the show that irritates the heck out of the average viewer. It's a shame they've turned the show into "Live from the Senior Center" via closed circuit tv.
I started watching the Tonight Show back when Steve Allen was the host. I watched it through Jack Parr, Johnny Carson, and Jay Leno. But on Monday night when the baton is passed to Conan O'Brien I will not be watching. I have tried several times to watch the Conan O'Brien show and I can say honestly that I'd rather watch the test pattern on t.v. than him. The test pattern is no more boring and not nearly as irritating. I'm just wondering if there are any others out there like me? Are some of you also about to become former Tonight Show viewers or are you looking forward to O'Brien taking over?
I'm with you on this one. I always thought that was a weird replacement. Conan is an experienced joke writer, but he can't deliver'em. I've switched to watching Jimmy Fallon from Saturday Night Live. He's a crackup. I follow him on Twitter, too...

I liked him on SNL so maybe I'll check him out. Otherwise I guess I'll be watching reruns of Murder She Wrote and Golden Girls.
Hate to put a damper on your Leno love fest, but I'm ecstatic about Conan taking over. He is light years funnier than Jay.
