Anyone watch Super Nanny last night with the Chapman family?

Any thoughts?

Yes, what the #!@* !!!

Seeing that made me cry !
Those poor girls are being abused by their freakin lazy parents !!! IMO, the parents are definitely disconnected from all of their children. Did you see when the older girl passed out, the dad acted like he was just a by-stander in a crowd, he didn't seem concerned at all.
I can't believe people treat their kids this way, it's very sad.

I wanted my 14 year old to watch it with me so she can see that unloading the diswasher isn't such a big deal! LOL

All kididng aside, very sad. My husband and I were in shock watching these poor girls. We couldn't believe the attitudes the parents had toward the situation. I will probably always wonder what happened to them.

Made me so so sad. I have to hope that people in the area saw the show and that they will be "checked in on". The older daughter looked so sick even after they taped the "where are they now" part. So so so sad.

What a horrifying show.

That mother obviously didn't want to raise the younger children, so she is forcing the older kids to be surrogate parents.

My skin crawled when, just when you think things MIGHT be changing, the mother pops up with "I want it understood I am NOT gonna let those kids take advantage of us!"

The younger girl had the parents pegged "They are just acting like this for the cameras".

Darn it, I dozed off right before this aired - what happened? Anyone care to give a brief synopsis of this episode?

I was shocked !!! I couldn't believe the parents walk out the door in the morning and the two daughters (17 and 14) made breakfast and then took care of their 3 younger brothers all day. They were expected to do everything around the house and then do their school work as well (on-line home schooling). They had no place and no time to do their school work and were failing school. The parents left and the mother didn't come home when she stated (6 pm), tried to call her and cell was off and she didn't answer her business phone. Mom came home late and brought Mc D's home for dinner. The girls were then expected to clean up after that and they also still took care of their brothers and put them to bed. The girls were being the parents to their brothers and the actual parents thought that the girls weren't doing enough or what they should be doing. OMG .. not sure if these parents could change their ways, they have obviously been doing this for a long time and to believe that they changed in what time there was (what a week) is a stretch IMHO.

I was wondering if social services would do anything. I mean, I'm going to assume it's not ok for children to be failing out of highschool because they have to watch their siblings.

yeah I watched that last night. I don't see why one of the parents couldn't stay home during the day to help them out a little. School should be those girls number 1 priority, not the chores their ^&#&@ mom should be doing. Near the end when the girls said what their parents did off camera and that they just put an act on for the camera was horrific. Those parents should be taught a lesson in proper parenting.

Unfortunately those girls were being home schooled -- IF either one of those girls had shown up in my classroom and told me their story, I would be required by law to contact CPS.

In fact, several years ago, I had to do that in a similar situation. The teen in question was able to get me a message later -- a brilliant child -- and thanked me. The group home was a much better situation that the teen had been in.

I believe CPS should be investigating the Chapmans. They were using the teens as slave labor.
