I'm the opposite. I loved the first two box sets that came out, but immediately stopped watching it. I don't know why I stopped...to me the jokes became less funny and too blatant. But hey, that's just me.
BTW, I highly recommend grabbing the first two box sets!
It is one of the funniest and cleverly written shows on TV. The only other show that is as clever and poignant is South Park.
I agree with your 1st sentence completely.
But...I'm trying to think of any poignancy I've seen on it and not coming up with much. Depth isn't Family Guy's strong point. Maybe I'm just not remembering though...what are some examples?
I never watched the show because I can't get with a lead character who has such an annoying voice and is an otherwise balchinean.
I was thumbing through the channels the other night while Mrs. McGowdog was getting dinner ready and stopped on Family Guy and realized that it's become as vulgar and unwatchable for children as South Park and Drawn Together! Has it always been like this or has it just recently evolved to this?
Heck, if you're gonna watch vulgar cartoons, just go all the way; South Park.
Lately, I've been hooked on ATHF. It's definitely an acquired taste.
I didn't watch if from the beginning, but I've caught all of the episdoes in syndication and it seems that's always been a little over-the-top or even vulgar.
I like it though, because they don't seem to be afraid to make fun of anyone or any group.
haha i LOVE Family Guy. It has to be the funniest show on TV.
