Grannysroost -

Here, take a look at this. I know you locals are well aware of this fact, but as a visitor I'm always amazed at just how GREEN the desert around Tucson is. Like the previous photo, this one was taken at the vacation rental we stayed in just north of River Road between Craycroft Road and Sabino Canyon Road. And of course with all that greenery the place was full of wildlife (especially birds - WOW!).

It was wonderful and we had a great time. FULLY expect to return to that particular rental house again.

That house was a great find! Our fence is surrounded by Oleanders, now in bloom white, pink and red...We have a beautiful mesquite tree I just love, call it the weeping willow of the desert with it's wispy, delicate fronds. I put my bird feeder out there, as well as hummer feeder and the tree and oleanders are alive with birds

Yeah, it was terrific. Since it was much shorter visit we didn't do as much "driving around looking at stuff" this time around. We did just two "day drives" and the rest of the time hung around Tucson.

It passed wayyyyyyyy too fast.

Funny how when you happen upon a view like that, it is always too short! Not sure if I could have made myself leave for even a short day drive
