I'm posting this in Phoenix, too. Hopefully I'll get some info between the two.

Has anyone used any of the shuttle services b/t Phoenix and Tucson? My sister's coming in for Thanksgiving and she's flying into Phoenix to save a few bucks. We have a car that she can use while she's here, but the issue is picking her up from the airport and taking her back for her return flight. I'm thinking that a shuttle could be a good alternative to taking off work, fighting traffic and paying for parking - okay, my motives are a bit self-serving.

I'm just wondering if these services are reliable, a decent value, etc. If anyone's used a shuttle service or has any recommendations, that would be great!!

Not recently, MdtoAz, but I have used one of the shuttle services a couple of times. It was no better or worse than any other similar shuttle services available around the country.

My suggestion, if possible, arrange to meet your sister at the first Tucson stop (I believe it is someplace along I-10 in Marana) to eliminate any delays and ease the pain as much as possible.

Good Luck.

Arizona Shuttle. Goes from Sky Harbor to just west of the freeway at Ina, 6th/Park near the U of A, and Speedway just west of Craycroft. I believe there's one shuttle an hour, every hour.

ditto. I used it a few years ago. My sister used it last month. VERY convenient. Sometimes it is a necessity since flying into Phoenix is quite a bit cheaper.

That seems to be the consensus. Thanks!!

Yeah, my sister's alternative was a bit crazy. She wanted us to either take them back to the airport at like 3 am. Or let her us one of our cars, leave it at the airport and call us to let us know where it was. Then we'd have to up there to pick it up later. Did I mention my sister's nuts?

Yeah, shuttle companies provide a great service. They take you where you need to go without a need for your own vehicle.

Back when Greyhound was a good alternative, that was pretty much the way to go. Today's Greyhound coming from Phoenix (to Tucson) seems like it may not stop until it gets to Nogales - if you catch my drift!
